Lighter, more durable, more resistant - Do these properties of plastic piping systems also apply to their use in battery cell production?

On Tuesday, August 8th, the Managing Directors of Fraunhofer FFB welcomed the German Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development, Svenja Schulze, in Münster. 

Münster. In order to further strengthen the #BatteryCityMünster, the stakeholders of the Fraunhofer Research Institution for Battery Cell Production FFB and the Technologieförderung Münster GmbH (TFM) want to cooperate even more closely. With the signing of a letter of intent, both partners confirm their plans to further promote strategic cooperation and networking in the field of battery systems and their production. In this way, Münster is to become one of the leading addresses for battery research on a European level.

Münster. During her visit to the Fraunhofer Research Institution for Battery Cell Production FFB facility on July 12, 2023, NRW State Secretary Silke Krebs and Institute Director Prof. Dr. Simon Lux talked about research into the development and production of economically and ecologically sustainable battery cells at the Münster site. The appointment focused on a tour of the construction progress in the »FFB PreFab«, the first building of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft. 

A platform to enable exchange for women in battery research - this wish is now being realized in Münster for four different research institutions.

Münster. High-performance battery cells are a key prerequisite for the transition to sustainable mobility. To achieve this, it is essential to create a more energy-saving and resource-efficient production infrastructure for the cells. Researchers at the Fraunhofer Research Institution for Battery Cell Production FFB are now demonstrating ways in which the use of so-called »mini- and macro-environments« can reduce energy and operating costs in battery cell production, thereby creating high potential for competitive battery production in Germany and Europe. The findings are summarized in the newly published whitepaper »Energy-efficient and quality-oriented plant concepts for battery cell production«, which is now available.

Münster. The Fraunhofer Research Institution for Battery Cell Production FFB and tesa SE, international manufacturer of adhesive tapes and self-adhesive product solutions, are collaborating closely in the future. The aim is to develop durable and sustainable battery cells for a wide range of industries.

Münster. At the international conference »Kraftwerk Batterie - Advanced Battery Power«, experts and interested parties can find out about the latest developments from all areas of the battery value cycle at the Eurogress Congress Center in Aachen.
