Energy Generation by Compressed Air Generators

Compressed air generation is crucial in battery cell production. It involves using compressors to produce high-pressure air. This compressed air is used to power tools, clean manufacturing environments, agitate solutions, and conduct quality control.

Functionality

Compressed air is a type of gas formed by compressing surrounding air. The air is taken into a compressor and pressurized, which decreases its volume and raises its pressure. After that, the compressed air has to be purified and dried. By using up-to-date oil-injected screw compressors and utilizing the excess heat, the efficiency of the process can be improved.

Efficiency

  • The waste heat of the compressed air generation can be used in a heating cycling at 80°C.
  • 70 –90 % of the electrical power of the compressors can be used as heating energy.

Environmental Impact

Approx. 200 MWh/a electrical energy is needed which equals 86 tons of CO2 per year.
