Introduction to Battery Cell Technology

September 22 & 23, mornings, online

Learn the Fundamentals of Battery Technology – Introductory Module for Beginners and Professionals

We are heading toward a future shaped by battery technology: Electromobility is unthinkable without batteries, just as the energy transition relies heavily on stationary storage systems. Lithium-ion batteries are also becoming essential in many other areas of life. That’s why knowledge of battery technology is not only critical in technical professions but increasingly valuable in a wide range of sectors – from insurance to waste management.

Course Overview

Dive into the fascinating world of cell voltage, energy density, and the key components of a battery: anodes, cathodes, and electrolytes. This course offers hands-on insights into how batteries work – from their building blocks to their state of charge. Strengthen your understanding of one of today’s most important technologies and take your first step into the world of battery innovation.

Reserve your spot now and build a solid foundation in this future-defining field!

Jochen Settelein, Fraunhofer ISC

Jochen Settelein heads the Battery Testing and Analysis group at the Bavarian Electric Mobility Research Center (FZEB) at the Fraunhofer ISC in Würzburg. The department offers electrical testing of battery cells and battery modules for companies and research institutions. The environmental conditions can be varied and the change in the state of the battery cells can be examined using a wide range of sensors (temperature, pressure, expansion, ultrasound). The batteries can be opened after testing and examined using various material analysis methods. Mr. Settelein has over 10 years of experience in the field of material development for batteries.
